Bodegas Sonsierra

Fue creada en 1962, siempre ha sido una marca vanguardista en el contexto del vino de Rioja en el que, desde su fundación, han luchado por empujar los límites más allá buscando la innovación con sus vinos y con proyectos como el vino Perfume de Sonsierra, que ha revolucionado el sector. 

Fueron la primera cooperativa en Rioja que comenzó a comercializar vinos embotellados y a poner en valor la calidad y la singularidad de los excepcionales viñedos de la subzona de Rioja Alta, siendo los pioneros en indicar esta procedencia en las etiquetas de sus vinos.

En Bodegas Sonsierra se elaboran los vinos que han comenzado a hacerse en el viñedo prestando la misma atención al detalle y utilizando tanto técnicas tradicionales como los últimos avances tecnológicos para controlar la máxima calidad durante el proceso.

Localización

En San Vicente de la Sonsierra, amparada bajo la Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja.

Clima

La Sierra de Cantabria al Norte y el río Ebro al Sur crean un microclima único para el cultivo de la vid en los viñedos.

Suelo

Suelos pobres en materia orgánica, tierras profundas, arcillo calcáreos, limitan la producción aumentando la calidad de los racimos.

Estructura equilibrada (arenas, limos y arcillas) y ricos en caliza, perfecto para el Tempranillo. Resultado: buen balance de acidez, concentración de aromas y sabores, vinos perfectos para la crianza.

Viñedo

En Bodegas Sonsierra atesoran 570 hectáreas de viñedo propio con cepas que van desde los 20 a los 130 años de media de edad y que han pertenecido desde hace generaciones a los socios de la bodega.

Variedades de uva

Únicamente las variedades nativas como: Tempranillo, Tempranillo Blanco y Viura, las que con el tiempo, mejor se han adaptado al terreno sobreviviendo al paso de los años y dando vinos reconocidos en todo el mundo.
